Senator Jim Risch, a senior member of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, stated that the TPLF forces must face justice for looting the USAID warehouses, block humanitarian access, divert aids to save lives and use it as a weapon against civilians.
Senator James Risch, a senior member of the Idaho State, said at the hearing that he was “uncomfortable” with reports that TPLF has robbed the USAID warehouse in Ethiopia. The senator emphasized that those who obstruct humanitarian access, divert life-saving aid and use it as a weapon against the civilian population must face justice. Sean Jones, the Ethiopian director of the United States Agency for International Development, said in an interview with local media recently that he thinks TPLF is very opportunistic.
“Maybe they are stealing humanitarian supplies from citizens. We do have evidence that several of our warehouses were looted and completely emptied in these areas, especially in Amhara where TPLF soldiers entered. Yes, we know this is true, ” Sean Jones said.
