Ethiopia Ready To Conduct Inclusive Dialogue With All Political Actors: MoFA

Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dina Mufti told local and international media that the government is ready to conduct inclusive dialogue with all political actors of the country.

Saying that the terrorist TPLF has continued committing atrocious crimes against civilians and looting public and private properties, the Spokesperson said the international community should push the criminal enterprise to stop its atrocities targeting innocent people.

He said the criminal group has killed hundreds of innocent people in northern parts of the county and inflicted displacement of more than 500,000 civilians in Amhara and Afar Regions. TPLF has also continued hampering the humanitarian operation and blocking

There are 54 contending parties in the country of which 4 are operating in Tigray Region, the Ambassador noted, adding that the government is ready to hold dialouge with these political actors, community representatives and religious leaders as part of the national peace and democracy building process.

Regarding Wednesday’s briefing for representatives of international organizations and ambassadors of donor countries, the Spokesperson said government is committed to addressing bureaucratic hurdles in visa issuance to relief personnel to Ethiopia, minimize number of checkpoints on paths to humanitarian aid centers and implement modern inspection technologies to facilitate conducive climate for partners.

On the other hand, he said the government urged all countries of the upper riparian countries to sign and ratfiy the 2015 Cooperative Frame Work Agreement for mutual regional benefit. Tunisia’s move to take the GERD issue to the UN General and UNSC is unacceptable, he noted.

Concerning the repatriation of undocumented compatriots from the Middle East countries, Ambassador Dina said Ethiopia has brought 1,665 citizens home from KSA.
